We love comments from non-book readers; they keep us in line! LOL Seriously, we especially like hearing opinions of non-book readers; good, bad, or indifferent. I can imagine it gets old for you to hear people (us, included) complaining about Jamie because your only Jamie is "show Jamie" and you love him and just want everyone to leave him alone. I haven't read the Game of Thrones series but it's one of my favorite shows, so if people bitched about Tyrion Lannister weekly, I'd get annoyed, too. So never fear, sister. We get it. Keep watching and keep commenting. It's all good. šPurgatory Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04206226666250028550noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2193939705192575193.post-75692082077597905642017-12-10T10:13:57.483-05:002017-12-10T10:13:57.483-05:00Hello ladies,

Will continue to send positive thoughts your way!

I enjoyed this episode - the look that Jaime gave Claire gave me goosebumps! And well as a non-reader it was quite a surprise to see that Geillis has turned into a super freak. I canāt believe we only have one episode left!

I donāt know that this was directed at me last week, but I am a commenter that does get vocal about all the āthis isnāt Jaimeā comments. I can assure you I am not a member of any PR team. I am a microbiologist in Cleveland, OH.

I think that as a non-reader I am as passionate about the show as readers are about the books. For me, it drives me crazy that a lot of book fans are so rigid. This is the show. It is going to be different. Have I loved every minute of this series? Nope. I think they cram a lot into 13 episodes. But when I make a comment I am trying to convey how I see Outlander through these āvirginā eyes and that imaybe it isnāt coming across like you think it is/ as bad as you think it is. Perhaps this isnāt the place for someone like me I donāt know.
KimShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03970936868993217735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2193939705192575193.post-18966478981946657142017-12-09T17:11:40.034-05:002017-12-09T17:11:40.034-05:00Well said. Each week it feels like Catriona's show with maybe an appearance by Sam and latest guest performers. It could be that as a reader, I'm still looking for the couple and their goals to be the plot drivers. They do evolve and mature, and it is not repetitive or gimmicky, so read on with no worries! You both make me laugh!
Carol, I totally agree with you that the show would benefit from having a "fan consultant". It would add so much in keeping the show on track with the books. Long running series tend to derail when all the actors start drinking their own kool aid, then become executive producers who want script approval on everything and ultimately steer away from the heart and soul of what the show was based on......the books! Hahahaha, love it.

A couple of comments this week:

First, a very emphatic ix-nay on the ig-way! No no no, I believe in the books Jamie never powdered his hair or did the wigs, I was always glad to read that, he was his own man not being swayed by "foppish" styles etc...

I'm so glad Mr. Willabee is treated with more respect for tv. Remember the whole graphic descriptions of foot mutilation in China and what men found sexy about feet? YUCK!

DG fascinates me for many reasons, but in particularly how she weaves history and fiction. Years ago we went to an all-inclusive in Jamaica and I was intrigued to find myself in Rose Hall. The "Legend of the White Witch of Rose Hall" is really played up for tourism. John Wayne even wrote a song about it, read the lyrics if you can. It turns out its more fiction than fact but is full of voodoo, affairs with slaves, and various husbands dying under mysterious circumstances. The fact that DG can weave that into her own stories FASCINATES me, she's a genius!

I agree, the Margeret/Ishmael story line is going to be mixed somehow with Mr. Willabee. Does that mean his storyline is going to be cleaned up a bit, he's too likable now to do what he did in the book. It'll be interesting to see how they tie up sooooo many storylines in one episode.

Thanks again for another entertaining recap.
PS- so heartwarming to see Tom ring that bell!
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11027588374236176179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2193939705192575193.post-32647041465087353982017-12-04T14:33:15.737-05:002017-12-04T14:33:15.737-05:00Hi Anon, the change is actually happening on your ...Hi Anon, the change is actually happening on your end for some reason as Feedit is just a widget I have on the site to show people how far our Outlander universe stretches.
