    1. Ooooh THANSK UNKNOWN. I love Peggy!! Meanwhile, I am such a LOSER because I'm TERRIFIED to read anything regarding TURN yet...even though it's HISTORY. LOL!!! How sad is that? "Oh sorry, I can't read REAL LIFE ACCOUNTS OF FACTUAL HISTORICAL EVENTS, because it might spoil my favorite binge series." WHAT??? LOL!! There are not enough "laughing my ass off" emojis for my ignorance!!! ;)

    1. I will venture into the GG at some point. I have a 13 year old...so thanks for the tip. I'm always looking for shows that are appropriate and won't embarrass either one of us to watch with each other! :)

    1. RIGHT, Anna?? We love it. And what's neat for me is that it's one place where our interests merge. (We both love Emma and Hook!) :)

  5. I am thrilled Richard Rankin @RikRankin was cast as Roger on Outlander! Just over the moon! The name Rick Rankin was already taken on Twitter so that's why he spelled it Rik. He's an awesome guy, fantastic actor and singer and we (The Rank and File group) love him! Cannot wait to see him on Outlander!

    1. LOL Thanks for letting us know about "Rik!" I don't know a thing about him...but I am so impressed that y'all called it a YEAR ago!!! :)

    1. OMG Ronda...and I was holding back on that video because I was all tipsy and trying to be cool. LOL! I swear, I watch it for the amazing acting, writing, and because I'm an American Revoution-file. They have brought it to life for me in a way I never thought possible. But that said? Major Andre = HOT. Benedict Arnold = HOT. George Washington = HOT. And do not even get me STARTED on Ben Tallmadge/Seth Numrich as far as both looks AND talent. I hope he keeps taking inspiring roles and doesn't let Hollywood turn him into a movie star. He's so far above all that.

  7. you too are so fun! would love to drink wine and talk Outlander with you. Trace- I am with you... I trust the show's casting and I am looking forward to being surprised. The show is like extra chapters to me. Carol-you are a pisser! I love the property bros. too! and they are Scotch! Also, Frank got what he deserved. Karma baby! and Happy Hogmanay!

  8. Tracey - About not being able to tell one character from another in TURN: think about how many people weren't sure who was Rupert and who was Angus in Outlander and NOW look at how much we love them!

    1. YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!! (screamed like Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally) CONNIE that is PERFECT!!! You will SO know all of them by the time you're finished season 2, y'all. I want to rewatch both seasons before season 3 starts. If this was "back in the day", I'd have a Turn: Washington's Purgatory! LOL!! Maybe I should think about it!! ;)

  10. Carol, totally agree about Black Sails. The show REALLY hit its stride in season 2. Cain't hardly wait for Season 3. (Also really excited for next season of Vikings!) and P.S. Can you please send me some of that Tastee Cake? I'm sure it'll survive the trip to Costa Rica just fine!

    1. LOLOL Connie. OMG I can't WAIT!!! What do we have, 2 weeks 'til Black Sails?? This season is going to be so different, now that everything has started to unfold. I am going to blog about it over at My Purgatory, I think. Have SO much to say.

      ***SPOILER ALERT AHEAD

Bottom line, this new superpower alliance among Flint, Vane, Long John...and maybe Blackbeard (or not; we'll see!) is going to be a force to be reckoned with!! One (non)word: SQUEEEE!!

    2. PS - LOL Something tells me PattzR's icing won't make it to the big CR!! ;) OH and Vikings!!! Another squeee!!

  11. Your video is hilarious. You guys are always fun! I just finished all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls because my daughter insisted. I loved it! Carol, you and Tom MUST give Hell on Wheels a chance. I watched it on Netflix. Follow hottie Cullen Bohanan and the building of the railroad in the post-civil war era. Just give it a chance. It didn't sound like something I would like, but I'm rewetting (like rereading Outlander books) because it is just so good! Black Sails and TURN....sigh....love those so much. Now we need another Droughtlander video!

    1. That should not say rewetting! It should say rewatching!!!!!! Auto-correct is BAD!!!

    2. Actually "rewetting" is not all that wrong!

    3. ROFLMAO Linda! I was like "What is rewetting? Hmmm?" That is CLASSIC!!! And thanks because I don't even KNOW that show!!! We are always looking for new ones!!

  12. Auntie Here, Darlings -

Happy New Year and ditto what's been said about Hell on Wheels. It's GRRRRRRReat! Before I ever knew there was such a person as Sam Heughan, I was gone on Anson Mount, who IS NOT Scottish, but deserves your full attention nevertheless. Plus, Common (AKA the rapper) is a very good actor. This show gets better as it goes along. Check it out!!

    1. Thanks Auntie!! SO looking forward to trying this out!! We are in the middle of season 2 of The Leftovers and it's verra draining. Also - I am hearing there is another BBC show that we all should be watching...shoot, I have to ask my neighbor. She said it's "English...and like Downton, but more serious." Sound familiar???

    2. Hello Auntie Lamb, love that Cullon (sp?) Bohannon ;) My husband and I enjoy Hell on Wheels, but need to catch up with the last season.

  13. Auntie's Back --

3d Sister Jill is my new GOD!! SO perceptive of her to have picked up on the total shafting of the Jamie-Claire love story and the preferences for Frank in the first season! And her encounter with Ron Moore? If he really does believe the show is CRAP (which I assume refers to the concept and the novels and NOT his production of the show), this tells me SO MUCH! His contempt for the whole show explains why he has shafted Jamie, prefers Frank, and other evidence of his complete disdain for the enterprise... "DO EPIC SHIT," my Presbyterian ass!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. LOL Auntie. Yeah, I always took that to be Ron joking around. I wish I had been there for that little encounter...although he probably would have seen me and run the other way after my elevator antics. ;)

      Delete
    2. I think Ron Moore was kidding also and was just trying to see what the reaction was from a fan, especially if she (Jill) didn't pick up on who he was. He has his heart and soul in the show or he wouldn't waste his time and reputation on something he didn't feel was good and worth it

      Delete
  14. Lol Auntie! Fairly certain that Ron was kidding around and does NOT consider the source material to be crap. Omg, given how much a fan of the series his wife and business partner are, I think there would be hell to pay if that were the case!!

  15. Just got the chance to watch - really needed that "MOP-fix", you guys were in rare form, please tell third-Sister Jill we hope she makes another appearance in the future. I've gotta say, your faces (especially you, Carol!) were absolutely PRICELESS when she said that about Claire/Frank compared to Claire/Jamie ;D I laughed so hard, but also think I probably had the same look on my face!

Tracey, like you I haven't been all to concerned/anxious for who gets cast next (and hate it when fans get to ask questions of anyone associated with the show and waste time with asking...come on, ask something else, please, LOL) There may be things I wish were different about the adaptation, but I sure agree that the casting has been perfection from the very beginning and have every confidence that will continue!

Carol, I think your hair looks lovely ;) Glad no one was hung over after the festivities, and bless you all for bringing us a little comic relief during Droughtlander - and the dark hours of no GG for Sam ;( Happy New Year!

  16. You would have to eat that cake in front of us! I just gave up carbs.
But seriously, I fell in love with Richard Rankin watching the Crimson Field. PBS series about WW1 nurses. Also, James Norton in Grantchester. He is a Jamie Fraser lookalike. So glad you are back with us, and Happy New Year !!!

  17. Hi Carol & Tracy!

I just watched this latest vidcast with my pino gris. You guys are so fun. Thanks for making these videos! I don't have enough people to talk to who share my obsession. My mom came by over for the holidays and I made here finish A Breath of Snow and Ashes (which she'd been dragging her feet on). I started watching you guys when the show started up but I'm a big DG fan (read everything!). Keep it up and YES, make vidcasts about anything Outlander.

  18. Just watched and as always you gals never fail to entertain! I have to say though, I really HATE you for eating that cake right in front of me! I started a veggie/protein only diet a couple days ago and seeing that was shear torture. When I get to lookin' as good as you 2 skinny bizatches then I'll have my cake! LOL!

Anywho, LOVED the video, as always and would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see anything and everything you'd want to talk about. I'll have to see if I can come up with some topics. The hubs and I started watching Black Sails recently (thank you Amazon Prime for your new subscription program) and we LOVE it! I must say there have been moments that have been really too unbelievable/unrealistic, but hey its all make believe and I do love the drama, and the characters! (Poor Silver) **sniff**sniff** Can't wait for the 23rd and Season 3!

Yes, TURN! What can I say that you haven't already? A close second to Outlander IMO. And The Last Kingdom, I had no qualms about paying for the episodes as soon as it was released. Another really great show!

As I read and watch these historical dramas I am constantly in awe of how life must have been for folks back then. Their brazen courage is astonishing! I wouldn't have lasted a week!

  19. Ok, just thought of something I'd love to see you two do a video of. Have you read any of the LJG books, and if so give those of us who haven't a "reason" why we should. Diana suggested on FB the other day that would be a good way to survive Droughtlander. I have read The Scottish Prisoner and loved it, but not sure about the others. Thanks!
