Songs of Love and Death

Lads and Lassies - dinna forget to get your copy of "Songs of Love and Death: All-Original Tales of Star-Crossed Love".  Diana Gabaldon's "A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows" short story is included in it.... and is the tale of Roger Mac's parents.

Y'all - I just ordered it for my Kindle and will be starting today. I am giddy with Glee....and no, I'm not talking about that silly show where they break into song (although Tracey keeps trying to tell me they don't) with the rudedog gym teacher played by Jane Lynch (whom I love more than words can say.)

  1. I went to B&N yesterday evening and read it. Holy Cow! A lot packed into 40 or so pages! You will LOVE it. New insights on Frank, heartbreaking for Roger's parents, a poignant meeting for Roger and wham! the unexpected!!! Get out the box of tissue, you will need it!

  2. Read it too. Think it deserves a reread! One mystery I am unsure of. Can't wait to ask folks what they think. Yes - it's love and death.

  6. Already got it on Kindle! Yey for me! I'm reading tonight.

I'm afraid of this book, though. Star crossed - ugh - so sad. I LOVE love... but not when it ends...especially in death. Sad clown.

  8. A perfect short story. A perfect addition to the Outlander saga. Sad but bearable. So many Jeremiahs!

  9. Well this doesn't have anything to do with SLD but had to post about it. Just having finished my morning housework I sat down to eat my breakfast (scottish-style porridge oats of course) I put on my Josh Groban Awake cd and was half listening while daydreaming about Jamie. Then the words sunk in and I thought, wait a minute, wait a minute....this song is about Jamie and how he loves Claire....."I am not a hero, I am not an angel, I am just a man. A man who's trying to love her, unlike any other. This world keeps on spinning, only she stills my heart, she's my inspiration, she's my northern star. I don't count my possessions, but all I call mine, I will give her completely 'til the end of time. In her eyes I see the sky and all I'll ever need, in her eyes time passes by, and she's still with me.. In her eyes I am. God, I have to get a tissue I'm a mess.
