  1. Ah, to be Rollo. To walk thru both worlds of wolves and dogs. To be feared and loved everywhere I go. I can take care of myself and others by my nose and size. The ladies love me, (mostly) the men respect me. To enjoy the fire with Ian, or run with the pack outdoors. I love seafood, and I can't get it everywhere, this makes me grumpy. I am very handy to have around as far as being head of security. Not a problem there. I am by far the most important character. Or at least dog....

  2. Oh, I am definitely Minerva, Duchess of Pardloe. Always independent, unorthodox and unflappable and ready to defend my children as fiercely as lioness. all the while being deeply in love with with husband, on my own terms.

  3. I always wanted to be Claire, of course. To have Jamie and Brianna in my novel life would be so wonderful, and I always wanted to help people. I don't know if I could have left Jamie though!

  4. I'd be Frank. 'Cause I'm a bit of a douche.

  5. Brianna - to have the best of both worlds! And Roger!

  6. Of course Claire! To have this earth shattering love, one that few people experience and to be wife to a handsome Highland Scot.

  7. I would be Lord John. Although as Clair I would get to have the great love affair with Jamie (sigh) I can't see myself living without some of the nicer things in life such as a clean bed and decent food as much as Clair has to. As Lord John I would have a certain amount of freedom and enough money to enjoy it. I would be close to Jamie at times and a part of me likes the whole 'tragic love unfulfilled' thing. I'd have a family that loves me, a place to call home and a great sense of honor with a witty sense of humor. PLUS, I sometimes think I'm a gay man in a woman's body :-)

  8. I would want to be Claire, not only because she has Jamie, but because she has the best genes ever. The woman does not age! She still has a nice arse at 47 (Joe Abernathy would tap that), and I am telling you, that is nearly impossible! (At least it is in my gene pool-- our arses make it until about 18 and then wave their white flag at old man Gravity.) She's also a career woman in a time when there was no such thing, knowing the healing properties of every plant in the 18th and 20th century, from Scotland to North America. Yeah, there are some negatives-- body lice, battles, strumpets trying to steal her man, and Frank from 1948-1966, to mention a few-- but having a devoted, warm, supportive, and sweet man like the Lord of Lallybroch by her side, an impressive, century-spanning resume, and a great body into her 50s... there is no other choice for me.

  9. I'd like to come up with something clever, but yeah, I'd totally want to be Claire. To experience a love like that? I cannot imagine. To hear some of the things Jamie has said to her and about her and know that they were meant for me? SWOON.

  10. Janet Fraser Murray - A loving and devoted wife to Ian. I love the descriptions of how those two have such a deep connection. I love her devotion to her older brother - even when they're both grown, Jenny is trying to take care of him. And their epic fight in OL was spectacular. So much fire and hardheadedness in her. I think she's probably a great cook too and a wonderful mum.

  11. I'd be Donas, so I could have Jamie riding me all day!

  12. I would probably be Brianna because I always feel like I identify with her... We are close in age, both moms, and both engineers. But she has better hair.

  13. Clair - I originally read the books during the 2nd year of medical school where you learn all of the diseases and infections that are so artfully described in the books and are not commonly seen in developed countries today. I would love to see these in person and felt like I somewhat had through the books. I also identify with her personality, especially the outspoken stubbornness!

  14. Who would I be, or who would I wish to be? Ah, that is the question...
I think I'd like to be Jenny. At first solid and capable and comfortable (albeit following the scare of Black Jack Randall and despite living with the constant fear of the English and what will happen to Jamie and Ian, her husband, not to mention Ian, her son), as she ruled the roost that is Lallybroch, now she has been thrust into adventure alongside Claire, and I can't wait to see what happens to her!

  15. I would love to be the girl who gave Jamie his son....Geneva Dunsany. I think of her and wondered what the relationship would have been between them if she had lived. I am certain Jamie would not have been able to stay away from his son, especially in those years after he was released from his bond. Geneva wanted Jamie. He was gentle with her when he bedded her and even though she was a wicked wee bizum, I would fantasize that with the birth of the baby things may have been different between them. So, yea, I would be GenevHO, if only for that one night..... sigh.

  16. I identify as Brianna - my husband is much like Roger (who I actually like better than Jamie, if that's possible), and I appreciate her career in a male-dominated field. She gets time travel + career + kids + cute house + the same husband through it all. And I'm super tall and would love to be even taller. And the red hair... please God may I have red hair.

  17. If I were an Outlander character I would be...

    Marsali

    Because I'm really fertile...

  18. Jocasta Cameron....This is a woman that has buried three husbands but still goes on. She is strong willed and independent even with her sight gone. I could only hope to face my own trials and tribulations with the same grace and will.

  19. I'd like to be either Frank or Jamie so that I can be married to Claire. I think that like most male fans of Outlander my favorite character is Claire not Jamie. She's got it all, great looks, great personality, and is a hard working professional.

  20. I would LOVE to be Rachel. I think Young Ian is becoming such a great man. He is always by Jamie's side and is always there to help the family when he can. Rollo loves her and she is so strong. She is going to be a perfect match for Young Ian and I can't wait to see what kind of adventured they get into,if the fates are kind. I think Rachel and Young Ian can be compared to Jamie and Claire. They are going through different experiences, but the love felt for one another is on the same level. She is fighting for what she loves, but not loosing sight of herself. Their story really kept my interest in the last book. I hated when Young Ian went to live with the Mohawks and felt for him at the loss of his children, living and dead. I was so relieved when he came back! I hold no jealousy for Rachel because she is great for him. There is nothing better than earth stopping love! To feel that would be a blessing!

  21. I would be Frank because then at least one of us would be able to answer the question "What did Frank know?"

  22. That IS a tough question to answer indeed! Been giving it some thought... and decided that I would definitely want to be the narrator (when it's not Claire speaking), this privileged "character" that can see all that's happening to these people's lives, and, like ancient storytellers, be able to tell about them. And these books have an outstanding narrator for sure! (g)

  23. I would choose to be Claire, because I think I am most like her(although I don't think I would endure the dirt and mud and sleeping on the ground all the time as well as she does). My husband and I are a lot like Jamie and Claire. We see each others faults but love each other all the more because of and inspite of them. I am close to Claire's age and have had a few similar experiences to her- the loss of a child at birth, the constant moving being married to a soldier(my husband was in the Air Force for 23 years), I have lived in Scotland and Tennessee(which is very near Fraser's Ridge). I would love to be able to heal people like she does. I love tht she is a strong independent woman who loves her family and stands by them no matter what.

  24. There is no question - Stephen Bonnet. Who wouldn't want to be a total badass but eventually does what is right. Ok, not all the time but most of the time. Plus you are rich enough to carry a diamond in your mouth and then without really knowing give it up to the woman you thought was carrying your child. LOVE! Plus to have a fear of drowning and then have to face drowning for hours while tied to a post only to have the one who you wronged take pity on you in the end. I could really work with Stephen Bonnet :)

  25. Good evening, ladies and gentlemen... This is Adso, speaking, Ruler and King of Fraser's Ridge. I am the purrrfect character for the grand prize of any and all contests lil Miss Carol chooses to pose. When I first came to Fraser's Ridge, I was naught but a wee cheetie, carried in the warmth of that braw Jamie's shirt. Twas kindness itself, he was, to pick me up and carry me to that wonderful place. I do so love prowling about, keeping the vermin under control, with the help of that Mrs. Bug. (Although I must ask, what is *with* that extra hair of yon Major MacDonald??) Anyway, even though I am purrrfectly capable of handling things here on the ridge all by myself, I do so hope my people come back soon. I know Jamie misses me, of course, but it's Claire that I think needs me the most, bless her. After all, even a white witch needs a cat, no?
