ComicCon NYC 2010 - ROLLCALL

ComicCon is quickly approaching, y'all.

If you're going to be in NYC on October 8th and/or 9th - comment here and let us know!

At this point, the My Outlander Purgatory girls are planning on hitting up Jock Tamson's Bairns on Saturday - it's the only truly Scottish owned-and-operated bar in the city. We hope to be there at around 4PM if anyone is staying the weekend! Keep in mind that JTB's is a small place that doesn't serve food. But the whisky. My GOD, the whisky. And did I mention the real life Highlander behind the bar - Aiden MACKENZIE -  who actually used the term "sassenach" in casual conversation? Oh yeah. I thought I did.

Hope to see you all in NYC!!

PS - Sorry we'll miss those of you who aren't going but I haven't given up on my Purgatory Tour of Scotland just yet. We'll get there! No worries!! ;)

  1. Speaking of ComicCon...Can you gals take some video footage of Diana and of the meeting of Compuserve forumites and anything else you can think of? Pretty please? I want to keep the YT channel momentum going through Diana's tour.

  2. Oh never fear Nikki. I will be bringing my Flip and laptop, so hopefully we'll be able to upload whatever we get by the end of the day, if not at some point during. Carol, you have a Flip too, right? Dare I try a two-camera shoot???

And also, we'll be tweeting nonstop with our locations and what's happening, so make sure to follow/retweet on Twitter!

  3. I don't have a flip but Shannon does. I have my Blackberry Storm - and that takes videos. They're not tremendous quality but they're OK. (See Randy doing his bagpipes for more clarification. LOL)

  5. You guys should really try to contact Diana about a short interview with her. I know she probably has seen you guys videos, since she subscribes to you on YT, and would get a big hoot out of you.
We could even give you guys questions to ask her.

    Well, just a thought....

  6. Jeaniebirdie--from your mouth to god's ears!!!! That raises an interesting question for Nikki though--Nikki, do you know how many of the YouTube videos Diana watches?

But if we were to do a video with her...now THERE'S an SNL sketch waiting to happen. Remember the sketch with Chris Farley and Adam Sandler as the nerdy fanboys? "Ummm, Diana? Remember the part where, um, Jamie rescues Claire from Black Jack and he isn't even carrying a loaded pistol? Um, yeah, that was cool." LOL

  7. Hi Lassies,

Aida, Sally and Marlene will all be there on Friday, but alas we are leaving on Saturday morning. Carol, I'll send you an email with our hotel info... maybe we are all close by and we can meet up for breakfast on Saturday morning.
    Can't wait!
    Sally

  9. (Chris Farley voice) Um... Diana... remember that part in Dragonfly where Jamie totally beheaded that guy upstairs in the mansion when they were trying to be quiet? He cut his head RIGHT OFF! It was so sweet the way he grabbed him from behind and just sliced right through. I bet the blood went spurting all over Jamie and even Claire, too. Yeah I really liked when that happened.

  15. My hubby and I will be there. We are making a weekend of it and will be there Thurs-Sunday. We are trying to leave things up in the air in terms of plans since we haven't been to NYC in 11 yrs and don't know what we want to do exactly. I do know that we'll be at the comic-con on Fri obviously and going to see Gorillaz at Madison Square Garden that night. I'll be sure to write down the name of the place and when you guys will be there though!

  16. Have you guys just checked out the media guests for Comic-con? They just added a bunch and hubby and I were laughing. Corey Feldman will be there! lol......some other big names are Noah Wylie, Lou Ferrigno, Milo Ventimiglia, M. Night Shymalan, Bruce Campbell and Joyce Dewitt!! And we can't forget Dustin from Ghosthunters! ha ha

  17. Brandy: I was actually kinda pysched about Noah Wylie--love me some Dr. Carter. And I will admit that Joyce DeWitt had me at hello--I actually was at an event with John Ritter ("god love him may he rest in peace" as our mom PattzR would say) many years ago, so if I could meet Ms. DeWitt and then Suzanne Somers somewhere, I'd have the Three's Company trifecta!!!!

And Corey Feldman...seriously. I would pay money for a pic of me with Corey Feldman. That's just how I roll, folks. "IT'S THE BLOOD SUCKING BRADY BUNCH!!"

  18. Tracey - Priscilla Barnes will be there, wasn't she the Chrissy in the later shows? I would love to meet Noah Wylie too as well as Corey Feldman. Hubby and I laugh about him now but I totally loved him growing up! I'm trying to talk hubby into taking his Hulk plastic bank he has had since he was a child to get signed by Lou Ferrigno but he just gives me a look like I'm silly! I have to say that when I look at all these guests and then the map of the place I think that we are never going to get through it all in the time we'll have before and after Diana...especially since it opens at 1 and closes at 7. We didn't get the weekend pass to save on money but now I'm kind of wishing we did in case we do want to go back. We love this kind of stuff so I should have thought this out a little better - oh well!

  19. SO psyched about NYC! We're driving up from DC :-) and will be there friday in time for DG's event. I'll keep an eye out for you guys in your MOP shirts but I hope to hang with the MOP contingent as well!
And, i'll be there for the Friday night dinner plus hopefully I'll be able to join you on Saturday. Not sure when we're heading back to DC, but I'll do my best :-)

  20. Oh, my lord! Eddy and Patsy interviewing Diana would be my dream interview!! lol Diana sees almost all the videos on the channel. I send her updates every so often about what's new there.

Is it bad that I'm having a vivid mental image of Carol in the role of Chris Farley, talking to Diana? "My name is Carol. I am a motivational blogger, and I live in a van down by the river. Sometimes I stay by the mailbox with a case of Pinot, but mostly I hang out down by the river." (snort)

    I love you gals...

  21. Oh my god Nikki - "I live in a van down by the river" is one of my top ten lines of all time. I say it weekly. I wonder if I've blogged it?!

I am CRACKING. UP. Can you imagine Tracey and I - ask Patsy and Eddy - interviewing Diana - in the self-help place Eddy was in in the last episode of the series? TRacey's all "The stick, darling, the stick. I have to ask Diana a question. Give me the stick. " And I'm all "Stolis BABE!" like Patsy. Oh god I can totally see it now. I'd have to light up a cig - and I don't even smoke! ;)

PS - It would be my dream to do a video in Patsy and Eddy mode one day. Seriously. Tracey - you have to watch some AbFab. We can do it.

  22. OMG I can just imagine the look on DG's face. Part horror, part fear, part fascination. Future characters in a book, for sure (like those wild feral forest twins from one of the later books - you know the ones I mean!)

  23. Sounds like a wonderful weekend. Have fun -- and we need picture and voice recordings of Mr. Mackenzie :)
