Outlander Chat Tonight

Chat tonight at 9PM Eastern - it's going to be a good one, too. Karen had lunch with Diana last week and will hopefully have lots of details!  AND - there's a certain photo everyone's talking about that I'm sure will come up tonight.

Having said that... I am SO SORRY... but I canna be at chat because I am meeting with a friend from California tonight. I have created a few blogs for him (that are really special to me and I WILL be linking to MOP soon) and I can actually sit and talk with him about them in person; not just via email. So - please know that I would NOT miss chat unless it were truly important.

Tracey will be there tonight and I want ALL THE DEETS!!!!

  3. Too bad you won't be able to make it tonight, Carol, but I will definitely be there to talk about my encounter with DG on Saturday.

  4. I have a wee question.

I don't have the excerpt of "Exile" shown in the back of the slime book but someone said that Murtagh sees Claire come through the stones...Did he call her the fairy's mate? What does that mean? Jamie's mate or did Murtagh see someone disappear into the stones before Claire came through??? Anyone, or am I totally confused?

P.S. Can't wait for "The Exile" to be released...have preordered

  5. I checked it out last week when you posted the link. I'm still on the fence about the graphic novel, but I know I'll end up buying it :)
During her panel at Dragon*Con, DG mentioned that while touring the National Gallery, she saw a nude painting (or sculpture, I can't remember) that stopped her in her tracks and made her think "that is what Jamie would look like naked." So she got a photo of it and sent it to the graphic artist. I meant to ask her which painting/sculpture it was when I met her, but I was so starstruck that I just mumbled about how amazing she is and how much I love the books. I was hoping that was the photo you were referring to. Do you happen to have any more info on this? I would LOVE to see the real-life inspiration for Jamie's behind :)

P.S. my name is Bri so you don't have to type out my super long blog name :)

  6. How long does chat usually last?Chat is right at my kids' bedtime (I'm in the central time zone). I just finished Echo and would love to come for the first time, since I'm not avoiding spoilers now! :)

  7. Anonymous: In the excerpt from Green Slime...

    SPOILER

yes, the big "reveal" is that Murtaugh sees Claire come through. However, I don't think he saw anyone go through just prior to that--at least, not in the excerpt in Echo. As far as the fairy's mate--don't have the book in front of me--I honestly forget exactly what he says. I'm thinking he MIGHT make reference to something like that, but I don't know if I'm remembering an actual reference or just speculation on other people's part.

Bri: What an awesome question! I've never heard that story--Karen might know whether DG has ever told it on Compuserve--but if not, you should definitely go over there and ask her yourself. I for one would be WAY curious to hear the answer...

  8. Rochelle--we start at 9pm and usually keep going till 10:30-ish, depending on how long of a day it's been or how much laundry needs to be folded ;-) We have lots to discuss this evening so I suspect we will go for awhile....

  9. Thanks! :)

I thought about telling the 2-year-old to just put herself to bed ("Mommy has to go talk to strangers on the computer about a book now, ok?"), but thought better of it. LOL!

  12. Thank you Carol! (It's short for Brianne.)

Okay ladies, so I asked DG about the nude painting that she used as inspiration for Jamies behind, and while she couldn't remember the exact name of the painting, she gave me enough info about it that I am pretty sure it's this one...

So exciting!! Check it out! I much prefer this image to the one in the graphic novel, but that's just me :)

  14. Sounds good! I wrote DG back and sent her the link so hopefully she will confirm that it's the correct painting, but it matches all aspects of her description perfectly so I've got my fingers crossed :)

  17. Yay Bri!!!! See, she doesn't eye roll ALL the time ;-) In fact, it's pretty amazing how accessible and patient she is. I was watching that interview Carol posted with her, and a lot of the stuff she talked about was stuff I've heard her discuss at least five times on various podcasts and such (Dr. Who, kilted men being fetching, Outlander being for writing practice, etc., etc.,), but each story was told in such a fresh, in-the-moment way you would never have known that it's prolly her stump speech that she has to give every time she does a talk or interview. That takes patience and talent!

Carol, you should put the inspiration painting on the blog--it's verra hawt.
