Claire and Jamie: Get the Sensation

Spoiler alert:  Dinna read unless you have read Voyager.

(And dinna read if you are a prude. LOL)

So last night I read a wicked Jamie/Claire scene.  And by "wicked", I mean dirty.  And what was that?  A scene I like to refer to as "Bite the Berth" from Voyager.  Holy crap, I had forgotten how much I love that scene.  Claire is a dirty little strumpet!  Survey says:  LUVS IT!  She is all over him...and Mr. Stern comes by and won't shut the hell up.  And it's just so funny watching him try to put her off - then deal with her and decide to enjoy himself...as Mr Stern is droning on about Marsali.  And the whole time, I'm thinking "How can she even do this when she's burning up with fever?"  (Hell - I'd be burning up with fever just from eating turtle soup! Blech!)  She's got the cool breeze from the window...the heat of her fever...the warm covers on the berth...and HIMSELF all lovin' up behind her...LORDDDDDDD that must have been better than eating a York Peppermint Patty!  Can't you just hear it now??  "When I eat a York Peppermint Patty, I get the sensation of being up against the berth with James Alexander Malcolm Mackenzie Fraser all up in my nethers from behind, with the blanket in my teeth and a cool breeze floating in from the port hole...".   Mmmm hmmm. Yes indeedy. I need MYself a York Peppermint Patty STAT!

  1. Carol, I love this scene. I got DH to listen to it in the hopes it might encourage him to start reading the books, but -no- even this didn't pursuade him -sigh-.
And we have similar peppermint cream type chocolates here which now -thank you so much :-)- I will never be able to eat again without THAT thought going through my head mmmmm hmmmmm

  2. I forgot about that scene. I love how Diana writes scenes like that. She writes hot without it being over the top vulgar. A lot of writers try too hard with "wicked" scenes. She always has the right balance.
And OMG, that latest excerpt from the Scottish Prisoner, wooo wheee hot!!

  4. The "turtle soup" scene is one of my all-time favorites! One of the funniest scenes in the whole series.

I remember those old commercials very well, too. :-)

  11. Do not read if you haven't read Echo.

I CAN'T STAND IT!!!!! I canna open my book I canna take it anymore. Is everyone just going to end up misreable! Bree and Roger just found out that Jem is gone. Ian just died. Claire left Jamie. I have know idea what she was thinking leaving him does she not know how DG writes???? Of course it is not going to be just as easy as him coming back to her! I knew the seperation was coming just not so soon! I am happy that Claire cares so much for HC and wants to helps him though. Jenny has never been my favorite one and has not done much to improve my feelings about her. Well I am almost done I just had to let some stuff out. I am sure I will be doing it again soon.

  14. MollyK, do not get me started again or they will block me from commenting my Echo rants on MOP (-:

Thanks for the tip for the SP site. Am I mistaken, or did this one crop up before somewhere? I just don't want to be missing any new material!

I just finished Echo yesterday. I feel pretty much the same way. Bereft. It took me forever to finish it because I would only read a few pages a day. I DIDN'T WANT IT TO END!

  17. I went to the store yesterday and was so tempted to buy Peppermint Patties. (I didn't) I got my tea headed towards the check out line and I see a display of Frazer Mints! Now I know it's not spelled the same, but seeing that after this thread made me laugh out loud in the store : )
