England's William and Kate get Hitched!

I did not get up for the ride in the Rolls...but I did wake up and turn on the ceremony midway through.  What fun.  Kate is stunning - that dress is spec-TAC-ular - and even though William is a cutie...HARRY is one sexy beast, no?

And how can I tie this post in to Scotland somehow?  That spectacular dress was designed by the Sarah Burton, creative director of Scot Alexander McQueen - God rest his soul.  Alexander designed that memorable "Highland Rape" collection that so many people still Google to this day.

  1. I'm watching now on the dvr. She looks beautiful and they both look so happy.

The way it tied into Scotland in my head was when I first saw the red coat I cringed and though "ugh"....

  2. I thought the dress was fine, but TOTALLY overshadowed by the bridesmaid's dress. That dress was SMOKIN'. Seriously, I'm printing out a pic of Pippa and hanging it everywhere around my house as "looking fabulous" inspiration.

Oh, and I was up at 5:45 and had a blast tweeting with the MOP Twitter posse!!!

  3. I think I'm going to be Princess Beatrice and that ridiculous hat for Halloween this year! :)

  4. OMG how funny were Bea and Eugenie? They looked like they were doing the walk of shame after a hard night at the pub! Don't know if you guys read the Tom and Lorenzo blog (aka Project Rungay), but they had the line of the day: "We so want to party with these crazy bitches. They're like Pats and Eddy, The Next Generation."

  5. Tracey, Tim Gunn was commentating on GMA this AM. I almost called you...but then realized it was 6:40 AM and assumed that would probably be rude. LOL!

  6. Saw Tim--but totally wondered why he wasn't STILL in London with Cynthia McFadden. He was like the pre-production guy going to scout out the location.

  7. I feel really bitchy saying this but it was fun to critize some of those stupid hats. Someone mentioned that Princess Beatrice's hat made her look like an extra from Dr Who!

Other than that I thought it was a beautiful wedding and I wish them both well.

  8. Your biggest connection to Scotland is that they met at St. Andrews University!

  9. The bride is a lovely woman, but the dress looked ordinary and barely memorable--despite the quality fabric and lace. Sista Pippa's dress, on the other hand and as Tracey noted, was a terrific style statement and is very memorable.

@Brandy.....The groom's jacket is the result of choosing a military uniform in which he holds his highest rank--Colonel in the Irish Guards. Looks best wearing his hat for reasons of politeness not stated.

Watched the occasion in its entirety and noted that the newlyweds pulled off their goal of a family wedding despite the royal shadow.

Too many gaffes in the attire of others--notably among the Tim Crawford designed cartoonish millinery worn even by Beckham's spouse Posh. The Queen's outfit on this occasion seems more attractive than what she wore to the wedding of Charles & Diana.

Looking forward to Joan Rivers take on the event! :^)

  10. I loved it! And I couldn't stop thinking about Lord John. He would have looked great at the wedding in one of those great British Army uniforms. And the horses! And the calvary helmets. He and his son(cough) would have been proud military participants.

  11. I, for one, felt forlorn while watching as I had Prince William's picture in my locker in high school. He's left me! ;)
