Camelot Strangeness

OK so I'm sitting here watching Camelot...and the Outlanderisms are freaking me out a bit...and I just had to share.

When I saw Arthur and Guinevere traveling on horseback, along the river, amidst a breathtaking mountainous landscape...I said to my husband "Wow...this is so Jamie and Claire".  But I figured it wasn't enough to blog about.

When I heard Guinevere telling a story and mentioning the name "Artemis", I thought "Wow, 'Artemis'...huh."  But I figured it probably still wasn't enough to blog about.

But when a group of men stopped to look after a pained Philip Winchester - the best fighter in the group who was sitting and holding his shoulder - and one of the men had to relocate it?

I said "HOLY SHIT, I HAVE TO BLOG THIS!!!"

No...Philip Winchester isn't one of my top Jamie candidates these days.  But just like "Thor", this show is starting to make me salivate for an Outlander film. :)

  1. Thor! yummy, I have to go see this! He is pretty much Jamie to me!

  2. I'm seeing Thor today with my husband and kids, and from what I've seen in clips and on talk shows, Chris Hemsworth might be an ideal Jamie (with his hair dyed the right shade of red!).

  3. Did you like Thor? Is it worth seeing in theaters or should I wait for it to come to DVD?

  4. This guy in the pic you posted is so Jamie for me. Every time he comes on screen I can't take my eyes off of him.

  5. I've always thought that a taller and younger Sean Bean would make a good Jamie and looking at a clip from Camelot Philip Winchester really did remind me of Sean Bean.

You are right that he isn't a perfect Jamie but he's certainly got a lot of screen presence and could certainly get plenty of women swooning over him!

  7. I just started to watch Camelot and I had to chuckle when the credits at the beginning said JAMIE campbell-bower and CLAIRE forlani ;) I am looking forward to see the episode you mentioned :)

  8. #TeamLeontes

I thought the same thing! "Gawain pulled a Claire!"

Speaking of Gawain, what about him as Roger Mac? If he were a wee bit taller and a little more gravel-y voiced? And he's even preachy.

The "knights" on a road trip was a good episode. I wouldn't mind a whole spin-off series on just the adventures of Kay and Leontes.

  9. Oh Talksupe - you are SO good. I don't even know everyone's name yet! I will go and do a character search and get back to ya! LOL

  12. I did see Thor yesterday - in 3D. It was a Mother's Day gift I gave myself and boy was it worth it. Chris Hemsworth, as Thor, WAS Jamie. He was charming, heroic, playful and so damn sexy that after I wiped the drool off my mouth and quit trying to reach out and touch him through my 3D glasses, I realized that it was if the stones had brought Jamie to the 21st Century, so cute were Thor's reactions to items on earth. Exactly how I imagined Jamie's reactions if he were able to time travel.

  13. Carol, you said Philip Winchester is not one of your #1 Jamie candidates. Who is on your list?

  14. Honestly, I don't have any Jamie candidates. I finally gave up and stopped trying to find "the perfect Jamie". I think Chris Hemsworth (everyone's Jamie du jour) is possibly as close as we've come...but I agree with DG - his nose is just not right and who knows if he could do a spot on Scots accent.

I will tell you right now, I would make it my life's work to get in to that casting call if I ever could swing it. I still love the hunt - and even if someone isn't perfect, it's still fun to discuss their attributes. :)
