Check out this awesome blog post by "Scottish Clans and Castles LTD" about the real Dun Bonnet.  And while you're at it, check out their post about last month's anniversary of Culloden

  1. Great posts! I have goosebumps....

Did you notice in the post about their 10th anniversary they talk about 'Outlander Tours', and there is a photo posted that includes DG?

Thanks for the tip - I might just have to subscribe to this blog!

  2. If I may take up a little more room here....

I was thinking about this post today and the "dunbonnet". DG has said that she did NOT know his real name when she wrote Voyager, but only later learned that he was named James Fraser. Can you imagine??? I mean, did she get major chills down her spine when she found that out, or what?! I know that she has said that there have been many coincidences like this that have revealed themselves since she started the series so it doesn't really surprise her anymore, but still.... You've gotta wonder just WHAT is channeling through this woman!

    (OK, I'm done now! )

  3. I am the tourist who took Alasdair Cunningham on the quest to find the Dun Bonnet cave in Foyers. I am a huge Outlander fan and had located some old descriptions and a sketchy map of the area. It was definitely off the beaten path, as well as over the fence and into the woods... But it was great fun and a vacation I will never forget.

  4. Macy - I cannot even imagine what that was like for you. I am in awe of your journey!

Cari - I also can't imagine how Diana could have written that without having some inclination about the story. I don't question, however. As Tracey always says: "In Diana We Trust". ;)
