All I Want is...

Thought I'd bring a little humor to the awesome discussion that's been happening in the comments of our last video. Everyone has a different opinion regarding the adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series on Starz...and EVERY opinion is welcomed on this blog, as long as it isn't a personal attack of any kind. We are all different...and life would be pretty boring if we all agreed 100% of the time. I respect the hell out of each and every one of you for loving this life-altering story...and for taking the time to voice your opinions here at My Outlander Purgatory. ❤️

  1. Ditto!

Speaking of Peanuts (weren't we?), and since you mentioned your GOT ringtone in the last recap, thought I'd mention that mine is "Linus and Lucy" - and it makes me smile every time it rings :)

    1. THAT...is a tremendous ringtone, dolittle!! It's so funny because I always wonder what I'll use if I ever get sick of the GOT tone (I doubt I will because it makes you feel AWESOME when you get a phone call and people hear it and give you this knowing grin...LOL) and the Peanuts song would be fabulous!!

  2. I began the series hopeful that it would follow the books and those "special" moments would be there. Well, at first I would miss hearing those great lines but then there they were in the next episode or a later one. I have never complained about the show. I am grateful and feel we are blessed to have our beloved books placed in the hands of fellow Outlander lovers. Do I agree with everything they have done? No, but have been proven wrong often enough that this season I have been along for the ride...and what a ride it has been!! I so look forward to being surprised even more in the seasons to come!

    1. This has always been a really fun space to nerd out about Outlander, thank you. Your recaps and chats on Monday are sometimes more enjoyable than the actual episodes:) I loved Season One, but have been disappointed by many aspects of Season Two. I'm more than happy to be vocal when I love things and when I hate things. Perhaps those of us that work in creative fields have a different relationship to criticism. I think feedback, good or bad, is extremely useful. If even a tiny part of the show improves because of fans expressing their love or hatred for something, that's great. I think many satisfied fans often see "those complainers" as threat to the show's existence. But I think poor story telling, lack of interest and low viewership will kill a show rather than people still actively engaged. I think we all want Outlander to be amazing as it can be and to air for as long as possible. And as a matter of fact, I'll go ahead and preemptively complain now... I hope we don't see Leghair anywhere near any caves in Season 3. If it's not Mary McNabb, I don't care if it's Mrs. Fitz buttering Jamie's bannocks- anyone but Laoghaire.
