Don't Jump the Shark, Screw the Pooch: Diana Gabaldon Explained!

This is a FASCINATING read from Herself, Diana Gabaldon, regarding her use of the term "jump the shark" in reference to Leghair's annoying return to the Outlander series on Starz in episode 8.

I have one thing to say:

I KNEW IT!!!!!

I said "This is a woman who has a zillion degrees! She's not sitting home watching television on a nightly basis! She didn't really mean "jump the shark!"

Sooooo sassenachs, I wanted to pass this along. It's a MUST READ if you've at all pondered Herself's commentary about the reappearance of that bitchy little trollop we call Laoghaire. :)

  1. Och, she's a classy lady. Thanks for sharing her own response to the matter (which I purposely avoid following when it's just the "armchair quarterbacks" yammering on about things they couldn't possibly know about).

Btw, Tracey & Carol, you two are so fabulous. I wub you. ❤️ 😊

    2. Thanks for the article - of course, we seasoned book readers KNEW Diana would not say anything like that! Really, it wasn't "screwing the pooch" OR "jumping the shark". It was adaptation of the source material. She raised her eyebrows at it, questioned it (in the writers' room), and even used the phrase "jts" in her PRIVATE Compuserve convo. Sometimes OL fandom and a few media outlets can really go overboard. Thanks again for the link!
