Oh Em Gee. How gorgeous is Caitriona Balfe?! She's perfect. I love her. And I don't even know adarned thing about her. I know she's Irish. So that always scores points, as I'm half Irish. And she's got the Claire "look". I canna WAIT to see her - and Sam - all kinds of done up in Hair and Makeup on set. It's going to be wild.
You know what I have to say now...
BRING ON LEGHAIR and GEILLIS!!!!
She's verra prettyReplyDelete
I actually can't believe they found an actress who IS Claire! Darn, wer're lucky bastards!ReplyDelete
Btw: Her chin and mouth (gorgeous!!!) remind me so much of Claire Forlani's chin an mouth...Claire Forlani was the first actress for Claire that came to my mind when I first thought about Outlander actors years and years ago ... glad that my mental image of Claire wasn't that off ;)
LOVE LOVE LOVE Claire Forlani...AND she's married to...le sigh...one of the hottest Scots around; Dougray Scott. Great couple. :)Delete
Yes she is gorgeous! Is the fact that she's 5ft 9 going to be an issue? Claire is supposed to fit under Jamie's shoulder!ReplyDelete
I think her height makes it easier to cast the other roles... Claire is meant to be taller than "average", with Caitriona being 5'9" I'd say that helps! and this way they wont have to cast a bunch of wee folk for everyone else! ;)ReplyDelete
Also, peeps need to not get so caught up in the details! They will (likely) give her contacts, and they will either curl her hair or give her a wig - I can't believe how many comments I saw today about her lack of curls!! Sheesh!
I'm so relieved that they have found her. I feel she's been lost in wilderness and has had to be saved. Poor thing. Come into Outlander world - Sam will look after you! At second look maybe its Sam who needs to watch it! A great day. Claire watching is over. Can't wait to see you two talk this up on a video. XReplyDelete
OH boy, Julie. Careful what you wish for. We dished for a longgggg time. ;)Delete
I have to thank you for the giggles.....every time you mention Leghair I giggle. Perfect name for the evil little witch with the difficult to pronounce name :DReplyDelete
She is just IT. I gasped when I saw her picture because she seems so perfect! So so excited to see this adventure continue!ReplyDelete
I guess that means she's OK with any/all potential steamy scenes with JAMMF? I'm getting verra hot just thinking about it.....ReplyDelete
I think she's a great choice. I am verra curious to know which scene she & Sam did together. I assume he was in LA last week to test with her, has anyone heard details?ReplyDelete
According to Diana she saw two scenes: the scene where Jamie and Claire talk after the first time they make love and the scene where they have that big fight after he rescues her from Fort William. That's the scene where he says "You're tearin' my guts out, Claire."
Ok.. so.. now that we have our cast (FINALLY!!) except for Gellie and Leghair.. I will hide Outlander boards on facebook.. and go into hiding from the series. I'm confident they will do it justice.. and thrilled they are using real Scots for characters (was a wee nervous about faked accents!!)ReplyDelete
It will be tough, not gobbling up news, photos, and whatever else from the set. But.. I want the surprise even more!
Into exile I will go.. until the Spring when I sign up for Starz.

Thinking about who they could cast as Geilie, I did a google search of Irish actresses and Evanna Lynch, Luna from the Harry Potter movies popped up. I think she's kind of perfect-- pretty but in a weird, slightly off way. What do you think?Delete
While she is verra pretty, she is about 40 pounds to small top and bottom. Needs a nice arse and ample cleavage to fill the roll.ReplyDelete
Where in the book did they say Geillis was large? I'm re reading Outlander right now, and she's slender.ReplyDelete
Oooh a reread. I really need to do that, too. Have you read the whole series, or just Outlander? :)Delete
I just watched the sneek peak and I don't think I can wait until next week. I had to watch it twice. I had to do a reread myself just because I was so excited to see the show and nervous that the characters would not do the book justice. Frank is not what I was expecting and Jamie was a bit different than I thought, but I like him. Claire was right on the money, but I didn't believe her temper. I can't seem to get enough and unless you have read all the books you just don't understand. It's good to see others feel the same way!Delete
