    1. From what I remember (SPOILER), he's THERE in that he's the general of the army. So he's talked about and referenced, but I only remember one actual scene with him on the page--I think JAMMF interacts with him at some point in MOBY. Am I missing something?

    2. And that was me (Tracey) btw! Not sure why I'm referenced as unknown...weird!

    3. In MOBY I know they interact but I thought she sees lots of famous people along the way including Washington. Could be wrong but she also sees (spoiler)Benedict Arnold. Anyway the Washington thing didn't bother me, thought it was kinda fun. I liked the episode, and think the season is going great! Happy Holiday! Love the blog!

  3. I was thinking that Roger spilling his beer on Bree's picture would play into future scenes - like when young Ian 1st meets him?

  4. I just want to say that I'm amazed and honored that Carol is able to continue with this process while also obviously completely stressed out caring for a beloved partner in Cancer treatment AND parenting her kids. I am always filled with a lot of admiration about the time she spends with us- how she shares the show with Tom, and I hope that doing this provides some kind of balance and maybe a little humour and balance. I wish that this didn't always post as anonymous... but I'm sure that I'm not the only one of the Purgatory viewers who stand in awe and amazement at both your energy, courage and the love that you sisters have for one another. Tracey is a great foil and puts a lot of energy into this as well. So... girls- we love you and are sending our best. I'm sure that I speak for us all... Thing about going public with stuff like you do... you have a lot of unseen support and prayers going on out here!!! Best to you and to your families!

Met the most wonderful, courageous, inspirational patients, staff, nurses, caregivers etc. Guess what one of the most talked about book/series/show was??? Outlander!! It became a wink, nod, had you seen season 4 trailer, when was the show starting again, how much do you love Jamie..lol, and of course, had you checked out MOP because if you had not you were missing out. Stay strong, God Bless. Merry Christmas

  6. Hi, Ladies: I enjoyed your video as I made a pecan pie. I didn't comment last week because frankly, I was a little gagged at all the compliments of a show I didn't like. Why make up stuff when there's a jammed-packed book to use? The Cherry tree comment was silly this week but I didn't mind the Washington thing. I don't care for modern humor in the series.
I finally realized why they chose Sophie: she is the same height as Roger!! If she was as tall as Claire, that would have been awkward. More Jamie and Claire, please! Your're right, though, that the later books have more characters.
I should have written notes. I've forgotten what else I wanted to say. Yes, I liked the way they wrote the rape scene. I don't think I could have watched it. Bonnet is so disgusting and evil. I yelled out loud when I read the books. And a man wrote this episode. Good work.
Comment from last week: if Laura Donnelly was unavailable, for pete's sake hire another actress. I will be surprised if she comes back. Leery always seems to be available, though. Ick.
I love your enthusiasm, Tracey. And Carol, God bless you and protect you and you Tom throughthe holidays and always. I hope we see you gals next week.

  7. I'm guessing that they threw in Washington for his I cannot tell a lie essence later.

I loved that Jamie said "I was at Colloden" and let the brits assume that he was w/the redcoats. Again with walking the fine line of truth between Jamie and Claire, the brits, the regulators.

  8. FINALLY... An episode that I truly enjoyed.

However... here I go again. One of the characters that I REALLY enjoyed in the books was John Quincy Meyers... especially where he shows up absolutely pissed during a formal dinner to have his "lump" removed. Not only has the man been dismissed... his flamboyancy, his flavor of speech (as portrayed by Davina Porter in the audio), costume, and his knowledge of the indians as well as his friendship with little Ian and the Fraser's... he was replaced by some British soldier that attended a dinner with Tryon that never happened and a play that never existed.

So... I thought that Sophie and Ed held down the fort in this episode. Sophie is doing a great job this season so far. Roger isn't sexy enough YET... hate the wig. And as usual... the writers and directors are creating crap over valid content.

  9. Oh!!!!! Merry Christmas ladies. May your prayers be answered. You must request a world-wide prayer vigil so all the fans and anyone else who wants to join for your loved ones who need to receive grace. All we have to do is grab hands, a pet, friend, neighbor... anything to give a few seconds to our stars that we are sending our strength to your stars.

  10. I was very dissatisfied with this episode. I think that they handled the rape seen very well, but other then that the episode was very chaotic and choppy. The whole George Washington humor was not needed. I did like how Jamie used the hernia as a distraction that was a very Jamie way to handle it. I felt that Roger found Bree a little too fast... My mom and I actually watch the episodes together and we both agree that we did not need to see all of Bree's bits. A good old fade to black is good. We don't need to see every thing! All we needed to see was the handfast and the fight. The way I remember it in the books the fight worked out the same way. I was mad at Roger when he left Bree in the book and I still don't agree with him leaving her like that, but that is what Diana wrote. I hope that the writer and directors build up more tension for the ultimate Brew and Roger reunion that will come later this season.

  11. Merry Christmas to you two, and a special happy birthday to Carol!

The episode of good, but not great. Again, all the missing moments that could show the connection J&C have. Instead we get Dr. Claire barking out orders to strangers...I know it is in the books...but it is old on screen. It is just making her look like a b*tch. You are correct that they did not let the natural development of Bree & Roger happen. So to go from 0 to 60 with...oh hey, what the heck...I'll marry you and just happen to find Ye Olde Ski Lodge with a roaring fire and bear skin rugs at the ready, was just unbelievable. Again, I know it happened in the book, but not until you were rooting for them. There has been no time to root for them, especially since they are writing show Roger even more.. "old fashioned" than book Roger. PLUS, the writers clearly forgot that show Roger called Bree to tell her about her parents and she had already left for Scotland, so he couldn't tell her. There are weird continuity issues all over the place in this season.

FYI Tracey & Carol: Roger meets up with Morag again in FC by some river, and that is where he meets Buccleigh, and you KNOW what happens then. Thanks for taking the time to do these hilarious videos ladies. I really appreciate them.

  12. Book 4 and on I don’t remember much detail. The first three books I have read over and over. They were my facirite of the series. I guess when other main characters and other plots began to emerge I would get impatient to get back to the Jamie and Claire storyline. I was okay with the Bree and Roger and maybe Ian storylines but all the others. It became more like several books in one. Filming will be difficult because we will feel we are not getting the connection between characters like we need. Things will become increasingly choppy. The books are going to be more detailed by nature. So, I guess I’m just along for the ride and enjoying the moments of recognition and surprises along the way.
