MOP Video: Episode 704 - "A Most Uncomfortable Woman"

Outlander “A Most Uncomfortable Woman” Season 7 Episode 704 recap! My Outlander Purgatory's Carol and Tracey are back to recap the latest episode of Season 7 of Outlander, the Starz series based on Diana Gabaldon's best-selling book series. Join us as we break down every moment, including why you should head over to the MOP Shop to treat yo’ self; who the uncomfortable women are (and why Bree is living in a man’s, man’s, man’s, man’s world); why Lallybroch is like Mount Rushmore; why we’re not sure about the Mackenzies and tiny house life; why Bree and Rog need another contractor; why we love Jamie and Claire when they banter; where we stand on Book William vs Show William; where they got all the copies of the Declaration of Independence; what we think of the show’s choice to use the “woman on fire” scene; how much of Willie is nature vs. nurture; why we love William for his teeth; why we question Roger and Bree not going for the gold; how Jemmie looks a little too close to someone else for comfort; how William might have known which letter went to which guy; whether Dismal Town or Brownville is the better name; why BOSS BITCH BREE is the shizz; how job interviews work in Scotland; why this might be the grossest episode of Outlander ever made; why Show Jamie going to war (across the barrel of a gun from his son) and not getting the hell out of Dodge is just weird, right?; our little message to John Bell (preview: he rocks); why Roger is not loving being Mr. Mom; how Ian could have been a little more fast and loose with the liquor before he treated Willie; whether or not Ian actually ever met Willie; why Tom Christie made us gasp (and whether or not there could ever be a Tom and Claire in another world); why Mark Lewis Jones should win every acting award; why the Jamie/Claire get busy scene was JUST RIGHT; why Denzel Hunter surprised us (in a GOOD way); why the almost amputation reminded us of Twilight (everything leads back to Twilight); whether there was a wee spark between Ian and Rachel; how horses must have been available in vending machines in the 18th century; Rachel’s embarrassment of hot guy riches; that awesome first shot of Ticonderoga; and MUCH MUCH MORE!!

  1. Regarding the priest hole it was in the floor of the kitchen I think and *SPOILER* it is where a certain bad guy ends up after a tousle with BOSS BITCH BREE. Regarding the lack of sea battles to get J & C to involvement in the war I presume was to cut air time but also maybe covid related because I think the previous sea escapades were filmed in South Africa and at the time of filming it may have been impossible to travel as well as Cait being pregnant.

  2. Ooh the Christie kiss in the book was commented on by Jamie in discussion later that Tom did not realise how Claire still did not like men touching her without permission as a hang over from her abduction. That may also have been part of Claire 'freezing'. But Cait's face was priceless and I almost spat my whisky!

  3. guys are you just not wanting to put out spoilers or did you miss the nuckalevee reference? A certain person from the past? I was really amazed this happened so quickly.

    1. I forget--I think we did talk about it briefly--but I'm sure neither one of us remembered how to pronounce "nuckalvee"!!! 🤣🤣🤣

What an awesome recap, my lovely MOP gals! I watched the episode, and could hardly wait for my husband to go to bed (in fairness, he always watches the episode with me, then says he knows I need to spend time with "the girls" and scampers off to bed), so I could watch again, accompanied by your fun commentary! Every time I see y'all, I remember our trip to bonny Scotland, and how much I loved both of you immediately! This episode had everything! I agree that William is a yummy morsel, and a true combination of Jamie's nature and Lord John's nurture. (Those teeth, Tracey!) I was not as convinced that Tom Christie was someone Claire could tolerate. Love Mark Lewis Jones, just not so much the character of Tom. Yes, he made a noble gesture for Claire, but I harken back to his obstinate, fundamental ways in Ardsmuir and when he first came to the Ridge. He was a cruel father to Malva, and likely had at least an inkling of what was going on between her and Allen. You're right - Claire would drive him bonkers in no time. Besides (to borrow from Paul Newman), when you have steak at home, why settle for hamburger? That foreplay scene with J&C was delicious! The scenes with Ian and Willie were spot on! (Can't get enough of John Bell!) Thanks to you, Carol, we are going back to watch TURN for the 3rd time, and have just begun our second showing of JOHN ADAMS with Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney. My favorite line of your recap? Tracey's "Time Travel for Dummies" - howlingly brilliant! Love you both!

    1. LOL! I loved that line, too, plus the "horse max" reference - so funny. I would love to see bloopers of Outlander and a scene as Carol described where Claire is being choked by Arch Bug in the background while Jamie and Ian argue about if something bad will happen!!

  6. This may get some people going!
I've never understood this, and the supposed prequel might address it???
If Jamie is a MacKenzie through his mother, and Roger is a MacKenzie and Bree can travel with just Claire's genes as Frank couldn't time travel, why can't Jamie time travel as a direct line, female descendant of Ellen MacKenzie?

  7. I am not a book reader. I was wondering when Tom Christie told Claire that he wrote the news of her death, was this the same newspaper that Bree and Roger read about, and why she went to the past to save her parents? If that's true then they did not change the events of the fire, it was all based on Christie's erronous publishing, right? They did not change the events, the deaths of Claire and Jamie never happened. This is why I hate time travel changes of history and what it affects.

    1. Even if Christie still had published a false obituary, the date of the fire had been changed, and it happened earlier than the original obit notice that caused Roger and Bree to travel back to warn them. So something changed, definitely.
