MOP's BOURBON BRUNCH with Graham McTavish and McTavish Spirits!

My Outlander Purgatory Presents a Bourbon Brunch with Graham McTavish and McTavish Spirits!! Join MOP’s Carol and Tracey and their VERY SPECIAL GUEST, Outlander’s own Dougal McKenzie, Graham McTavish!!! We discuss Graham’s newest venture, McTavish Spirits, and its first offering, the Warchief—a 7 year bottled-in-bond bourbon whiskey that receives big thumbs up from both the MOP lasses. Graham explains what led a Scot to want to make Kentucky-style bourbon, schools us in what makes bourbon unique, and gives some drinking tips to bourbon novices (like us!). And we wouldn’t let him get away without a little Outlander talk….what’s in store for season 7, saying goodbye to Outlander, PLUS a possible season 3 of Men in Kilts??? πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™  But that’s not all—the MOP ladies walk you through the fixing for a holiday bourbon-based cocktail, run down what they’ve been up to during Droughtlander, and MUCH MUCH MORE!!

SPECIAL OFFER FOR MOP FANS: 10 percent off the Warchief and McTavish merch!! Just visit mctavishspirits.com and enter the code PURGATORY at checkout!

SPECIAL THANKS to Graham McTavish and Paul Novielli at McTavish Spirits!

Remember Paoli πŸ’”

...the Most Dreadful Scene I Ever beheld.

A British officer reported his impressions:

[General Grey] came to the head of the battalion and cried out "Dash on, light infantry!" and, without saying a word, the whole battalion dashed into the wood, and guided by the straggling fire of the picket, that was followed close up, we entered the camp and gave such a cheer as made the wood echo. The enemy were completely surprised; some with arms, others without, running in all directions in the greatest confusion. The light infantry bayoneted every man they came up with. The camp was immediately set on fire, and this, with the cries of the wounded formed altogether one of the most dreadful scene I ever beheld. Every man that fired was instantly put to death.

Remember Paoli πŸ’”

My first visit to the Paoli Battlefield, despite having grown up in Paoli! 🀦‍♀️
Much Thanks to Herself, Diana Gabaldon for remembering Paoli. ❤️

MOP VIDEO: Episode 708: Turning Points

Outlander “Turning Points” Season 7 Episode 708 recap! My Outlander Purgatory's Carol and Tracey are back to recap the FINALE episode of the front half of Season 7 of Outlander, the Starz series based on Diana Gabaldon's best-selling book series. Join us as we break down every moment, including the HUGE NEWS that WE’RE GOING BACK TO SCOTLAND and all the deets on how YOU can join us; why Claire’s level of bad assery in rescuing Jamie was top three of the series; why Jamie’s reference to cutting off his finger actually had a purpose (and why Carol loved this whole scene); what Bree has in common with Peg Bundy; why Roger and Buck are the superheroes of time travel we never knew we needed; whether or not they maybe should have given the whole rescue thing a few more minutes of planning; why Rob Cameron should just rob a bank if he’s so hard up for cash; why Rollo got off easy for eating the goose grease; why we are worrit about Ian and Rachel (and it doesn’t have to do with danger); how Pee Wee Herman (RIP Paul Reubens 😒) helps us try to get at the Ian Problem (let us know in the comments if you agree there’s a problem or if you think we’re off our rocker!); why Nice Guy Benedict Arnold threw Claire; why Sam must have been super happy about that Morgan back performance; why the Emmys should have a best adapted teleplay category because the Outlander writers would sweep; why we’re confused about terms of surrender for a battle (and why William can’t just sneak to another regiment); why the civility of a Redcoat coming into the rebel camp is very impressive; why we LOVEDLOVEDLOVED the Fraser cousins and their entire scene (RIP Angus the Bruce); how Jamie and Simon represented the division that so many families went through at that time; how Granny Gates really had to twist Jamie’s arm to get him to take Angus the Bruce back to Scotland; how Rachel made us SOOOOO happy (cause we’re heading to Valley Forge in the back half of season 7!); why Sophie gets a slow golf clap for the goodbye scene; the reappearance of ARCH BUG!!; why those sweeping shots of the ships on the water are EVERYTHING; why Outlander doesn’t get better than the last minute of the episode, and MUCH MUCH MORE!!

MOP VIDEO: Ep 707 "A Practical Guide for Time-Travelers"

Outlander “A Practical Guide for Time-Travelers” Season 7 Episode 707 recap! My Outlander Purgatory's Carol and Tracey are back to recap the penultimate episode of the front half of Season 7 of Outlander, the Starz series based on Diana Gabaldon's best-selling book series. Join us as we break down every moment, including what we did during our time away (DON’T call it a vacation, lol); why Starz needs to make the episode titles shorter; why X does NOT mark the spot when it comes to Twitter; how hard it might have been for Claire to learn to write with a quill and ink (and how she created such a neat letter to Bree); how we had Roger and Bree’s chair growing up and what happened when Carol tried to sit in it; the identity of the nuckelavee (or BUCKelavee); a wee remembrance of Sinead O’Conner 😭; why the Tufty Club Easter egg is the PERFECT Easter egg; whether Diarmaid Murtagh got the role of Buck because of his last name (we say no, lol); why William is a sniveling little s**t and yet we still love him; how trying to keep the Jamie/Claire and Bree/Roger timelines straight is next to impossible; why Rob Cameron needs to read some Hints from Heloise for tips on being a good guest; why Jem and Mandy get a slow golf clap; how the fewer moments of Jamie and Claire are impacting first-time watchers; why Jamie talking fonts gets us all hot and bothered; why it was great hearing a mention of the Beefsteak; how every word out of Simon Fraser’s (aka Angus the Bruce) mouth is a riddle wrapped in enigma; Bree’s Take Your Buck to Work Day; Roger’s hotness in a kilt (and why he had the line of the episode); why we just CANNOT watch Roger and Bree get busy; why “In the Air Tonight” requires anyone making out to it pause at the drum solo; why we hope Bree and Roger at least changed the sheets for poor Uncle Buck; the return of BAD ASS IAN!!; how William became Jamie Fraser on the battlefield; why wee Mandy is the VIP of this episode; why Willie is the love child of Lord John and Jamie; whether or not James Alexander Malcolm Mackenzie Fraser is DEAD ON THE BATTLEFIELD; and MUCH MUCH MORE!!

MOP VIDEO: Episode 706 "Where the Waters Meet"

For those of you who prefer to skip over our opening banter, the actual recapping begins at 15:44.

Outlander “Where the Waters Meet” Season 7 Episode 706 recap! My Outlander Purgatory's Carol and Tracey are back to recap the latest episode of Season 7 of Outlander, the Starz series based on Diana Gabaldon's best-selling book series. Join us as we break down every moment, including why we’re called My Outlander PURGATORY in the first place; how the SAG/AFTRA/WGA strike might affect season 8; Carol’s revelation about Sinead’s version of the Outlander theme music; why Angus the Bruce (aka Angus Macfadyen) showing up as Simon Fraser was Carol’s favorite thing EVER; why we’re surprised Jamie’s “I’ll carry them” offer didn’t receive more offers; why Jamie made some questionable decisions in the woods; why we are DIGGING hot ‘80s Roger; how Jamie managed to throw an ax at redcoats without killing his own son (and why Ian with an ax later is giving Karate Kid vibes); why Show Ian is basically Jamie Jr. by now and maybe that’s a bit of a problem; why herbs heal all maladies on Outlander; why Richardson has the 18th century equivalent of the corner office (and why you might want to add Richardson to your bingo card); why spitting up movie/TV blood is a sure sign that your character is a goner; why Claire not recognizing William is a bit of a head scratcher; why the courtly William bows make Tracey weak in the knees; why we are ashamed for not noticing Bree and Roger’s fully stocked bar last week; why we are relying on Y’ALL to explain the ley line business; why Jamie must think that all this Claire rescuing is getting super old by now; why it’s surprising that Ian let someone else touch his bow; why Roger teaching the wee ones a Gaelic song put a little tear in our eye; why Claire should have just given poor Walter the full flask; why the Roger and Rob Cameron scene was like a good game of pickleball; why Ian needs to play it a little more cool when he's trying to rescue someone; why we are forgetting everything by the end of this video (we it's like midnight by this point); why we can’t be onboard with a makeout sesh that involves unbrushed teeth; why if we’re Rachel we’re Team William at this point; why we did not get why Daniel Morgan was wearing something the Bob Mackie of the 18th century designed; why we STILL hold a grudge about Jamie not wanting to know about Claire in the reunion episode from season 3; who the mystery man Roger catches might be, and MUCH MUCH MORE!!
