Diana Gabaldon's Explanation of Book 8's Title

FASCINATING explanation (aren't they all?!) from Diana Gabaldon about how/why she chose the title for the infamous-but-yet-to-be-finished "Book 8".

WRITTEN WITH MY OWN HEART'S BLOOD?
or
WRITTEN WITH MY HEART'S OWN BLOOD?

Which do YOU like better?

Personally I like "own heart's blood".  But what the heck do I know?  Rippin ribbon!  Exactly!

  1. Yay!! I'm just happy to have a title...somehow it makes it seem more real. :)

  2. If it's "own heart's blood", we can't use HOB as our acronym. OHB isn't as appealing? Honestly, my head is still spinning from all the speculation and the news that there is a title, so I think I need to stick with "Book 8" for awhile longer so my head doesn't 'splode!

  3. I think it's very vivid! Unfortunately, I think it's really telling that DG herself couldn't keep the order of the words straight when she wrote about it for her blog, you know? I mean, in my own heart's, with my heart's own... Sometimes something can be an amazing image and vivid but a little wordy :-)
Either way, her explanation was super informative and gives it lots of context and does make more sense after you read it :-)

    Just mis dos centavos ....

  4. Excited to hear about the title, but upset to hear that she can't say if this is the last one...I thought we were "safe" for at least another book...

Jamie...oh, Jamie...I don't want to let you go just yet.

    *sigh*

  5. I do like that book 8 will involve the infamous printing press.

I get all swoony when Jamie talks typeset. :)

  6. I like ""Written in my own hearts blood... That one doesnt sound like one is actually writting in blood but bit more like writting with a broken heart ... as if saddened by time...
