  1. Cool! Something to watch once the holidays are over & it's too cold to go out.
I've been planning to watch "The Last of the Mohicans" I think it's a bit earlier in US history but after Ian, the Indians in NC, and reading 'Into the Wilderness', I thought it might be interesting.

  4. @Melody - I love the Last of the Mohicans. Read the book 30+years ago. Loved it then and the movie with Daniel Day Lewis is terrific! Enjoy!

  7. Not on regularly anymore, but look for Masterpiece Classics (the old Masterpiece Theater) on PBS--lots of Jane Austen, the Brontes, and Hardy. Pure gold for old English majors. Favorite movies for the romantics out there: Room with a View (with a young Helena Bonham Carter--before she got a bit strange), and Enchanted April.. OMG, the best! Also love Sense and Sensibility (90's version with Emma Thompson and Kate ?...the titanic blond), and the recent Pride and Prejudice, even though the makeup on Kiera Knightly is overdone. Great score, too! --Julie

  8. Straight to my netflix cue! I have to agree about Masterpiece Theater - BBC's recent wuthering heights with Tom Brady and Charlotte Riley has to be added to the list!

  9. CAROL! Eddie Redmayne (Pillars of the Earth) was in Tess of the D'Uberville's on PBS last night. Next installment is probably next Monday night (oops, during chat). --Julie

  10. Julie - thanks! I wasn't sure if I'd seen Room with a View - so I watched a trailer and I haven't! Yippee! So true about HBC. She has gotten quite strange. Must be the union with Tim Burton. DANG - totally missed Eddie Redmayne on PBS. I keep threatening to rent that and haven't yet!
